Answer it once, not every week

Some questions arrive again and again. Write the answer once and it shows up in the widget, on your own help centre and in search, before anyone has to ask you.

Writing

A plain editor, not a page builder

You are writing an answer, not designing a site, so the article is text and the styling is already decided.

Written in Markdown

Headings, lists, links and code. Nothing you write can carry a script onto a reader's page, because the markup is produced by us rather than stored by you.

Grouped into collections

Getting started, billing, whatever fits. Each collection has its own address and description, and articles are ordered inside it.

Draft until you publish

An article is a draft until you say otherwise. Drafts are invisible everywhere a visitor can reach, including search.

Searchable by whole phrase

Titles and body text are searched together, so a visitor typing what they would say out loud still finds the article.

Where it shows up

Three places, one article

Published once, read wherever the question is being asked.

Inside the widget

A Help tab beside Chat and Request. A visitor searches before they ask, and the tab only appears once you have published something.

On a help centre of your own

Every plan gets an address at writine.com. Pro and Business can point a domain you own at it instead, such as help.yourcompany.com.

The question that never arrives

The question answered on the page is the one that never reaches your inbox, and the one you never answer twice.

Your own domain

help.yourcompany.com, verified by you

Available on Pro and Business.

Proved before it serves

You add a TXT record to your DNS and we read it back. A domain that has not been proven serves nothing, so nobody can point a name at us and claim a help centre that is not theirs.

The free address keeps working

Connecting a domain adds an address, it does not take one away. Links you have already shared carry on working.
